rest and relaxation.

I'm back from my lovely vacation up north to my cabin. Wow, what a difference a week away from the cities can make.

Ryan and I enjoyed a beautiful, quiet time at the lake.

Most days, we slept in until at least 9am or 10am. It didn't feel like wasted time at all, it's nice to be lazy sometimes! :)

We layed out on the dock on the water every day, enjoying the sun. Got some golden skin, even with the use of our 30 spf sunblock.

We visited Minnestalgia winery, got about 12 bottles of honey and berry wines. Delicious, and the raspberry wine makes a great spritzer with a little Sprite. Mmm.

We enjoyed some great dinners including a bass cook-out with the Aunts, chicken enchilada night, steaks at the 40 club, all-you-can-eat buffet at Mille Lacs Grand Casino, and even a homemade spaghetti night.

We stopped by Ruttgers for drinks the first night and ran into a huge Accounting recruitment seminar of college students. Made for a fun night. Then, we went back a couple days later for fabulous 1 hour massages. My therapist did a guided relaxation meditation, so relaxing and I just completely 'let go'.

We caught some fish, explored town, even drove to Brainerd one night about 45 min to find a bar that was fun. No luck.

All in all, a wonderful weekend. I felt completely rejuvinated and was even ready come home to work hard at my job and on my house. That's always a good thing, right!?

  1. Wow, you did get a nice break! That sounds so lovely -- and good that you and Ryan got some quality time out of it. :)
